STRENGTHENING CHRISTIANS
WHERE FAITH COSTS THE MOST.

In 1955, as Brother Andrew sat watching thousands of delegates to the Youth Congress in Poland, God led him to Revelation 3:2: “Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God.”

Brother Andrew heeded God’s call earning him the nickname “God’s Smuggler” as a result of his work to support the persecuted church. The organization continues to live out Brother Andrew’s mission, in 2020, over one million Bibles and Christian books were distributed around the world.

Many have been welcomed into the Christian family by Brother Andrew and those he inspired. But unfortunately, some of our brothers and sisters live in places where the cost of being a Christian and sharing the Gospel is very high. Thankfully, Open Doors is there for some of our persecuted brothers and sisters:

In 2022:

    • 786,599 persecuted brothers and sisters benefited from advocacy
    • 3,269,362 Christians were discipled, trained, mentored or counselled
    • 1,695,244 people received Bibles and other Christian literature

“So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”

When you join the One Partnership community, you faithfully stand with persecuted Christians to help them remain salt and light where they are by helping meet their immediate needs and support their efforts.

Your monthly gift through the One Partnership program will create sustainable funding that allows Open Doors to:

– meet the immediate needs of our persecuted brothers and sisters who may be in crisis or needing urgent help

– provide critical programs, such as counselling, job training and start up funds for small business to generate income

– contribute to activities like the rebuilding of church buildings or distributing bibles or other Christian materials

For 65 years Open Doors has worked in the world’s most oppressive and restrictive countries, strengthening Christians to stand strong in the face of persecution and equipping them to shine Christ’s light in these places.

We know that some Canadians experience challenges in practicing their faith in Canada. However, we focus our efforts on grave and life-threatening persecution that occurs in other countries. To ensure that the message of hope that is contained within the Gospel is able to be shared in every country, Open Doors works to strengthen Christians where faith costs the most. Therefore, we do not raise funds to support Christians in Canada.

We know that life circumstances can change and you may need to stop your monthly donation. To do so, you can either get in touch by email at opendoorsca@odcan.org or call our office at 905-636-0944 – we’ll be glad to attend to your request.

Yes, you can. We send out annual tax receipts in February for the previous calendar year’s donations. Again, should you have any questions you can contact us by email at opendoorsca@odcan.org or call our office at 905-636-0944.
