Please pray urgently for Ming*, a Christian from a Muslim background from Northwest China, who has gone missing.
We have shared about Ming’s work before, and the persecution he faces.
Ming was detained for a few days earlier this year. Although he was released, he is still continually being monitored. Later, he was detained for a full month.
An Open Doors local partner, “Hollace”, who has regular contact with Ming, mentions he suddenly lost contact again with Ming recently.
“I’ve had no news from him for quite a few days. This has happened before—every time I can’t reach him, it turns out he’s been detained,” Hollace shared.
He added, “Recently, Ming was detained for a few days for leading a small gospel gathering. During his time in detention, he barely slept and suffered severe beatings from the police. He was threatened by the authorities not to attend the gatherings again.”
Ming often works with Hollace to serve the believers in this region of China where Christian activities are strictly supervised by the authorities. Before his recent detention, Ming had also experienced being detained several times for his support to Christian ministry.
Hollace appealed urgently, “I couldn’t help worrying about him after losing contact. He had been under constant surveillance and was frequently summoned by the authorities. Please pray for him.”
Pray
- Pray for Ming’s whereabouts. May God protect him and strengthen him in whatever situation he is facing now. May his body and spirit be healed and comforted in the Lord.
- Pray for comfort and peace to Ming, his family and his church who are worried about his situation. May the Lord also cover them during this difficult time.
- Pray for the people Ming shared the gospel with. May God protect them and strengthen them.
- Pray for Hollace’s next steps to encourage other believers.
